Exploring the seasonal flavors of Luna Muna

Exploring the seasonal flavors of Luna Muna

There is a specific rhythm to life here at Ibagari and nowhere is it felt more deeply than at our table. You know that feeling when you sit down for dinner after a day in the sun, when your skin feels warm, the sound of the ocean is just a few steps away, and the first glass of wine tastes like a celebration. Luna Muna was created for exactly that moment. A story told through the flavors of our island.  At Ibagari, we believe that true luxury lies in freshness. Our culinary philosophy is rooted in the simple, yet complex, idea that nature knows best. Because we rely on local ingredients, which includes catch brought by Roatan fishermen and tropical fruits harvested nearby, our menu breathes with the island. This connection, this balance between land and sea means that what you find on your plate is always vibrant and intentional.  Whether you’re in the mood for the delicacy of our king crab tortellini or the indulgence of a fresh lobster tail stuffed with bacon and mushrooms, you ought to know that every one of our dishes is designed to surprise you. Beyond our signature classics, there is an ever-changing spirit

Why Roatan is the perfect venue for your upcoming wedding

Planning a wedding often feels like a balancing act between what tradition expects and what your heart actually wants. Close your eyes for a moment and picture the both of you swapping the crowded ballrooms for a wooden deck warmed by the sun. Imagine that the only soundtrack to your vows is the rhythm of the Caribbean Sea, and the only pressure you feel is deciding which cocktail to sip as the sun dips below the horizon. At Ibagari, in Roatan, we believe that your perfect wedding is the one you can picture and the one we can make come true.  There is a distinct difference between hosting a wedding at a resort and hosting a wedding at your own private sanctuary. One of the most magical aspects of celebrating your union at Ibagari is that you can reserve the entire hotel exclusively for your party.  We want you to imagine the freedom of knowing that every person you see walking through the open-air corridors is someone you love. There are no strangers at the bar, no unknown faces by the pool. For a few days, Ibagari becomes your private home. You can wake up late, walk barefoot to breakfast

Cherishing our historic Michelin Key recognition together

This past October, something historic happened to Ibagari, to Roatan, to Honduras as a whole: we were awarded a Michelin Key, becoming the first and only hotel in the country to receive this distinction. While the plaque is new, the spirit it recognizes is the same one you have known all along. It feels important to pause and share this moment with you because, in truth, this recognition belongs as much to our guests as it does to us. When the news broke, happiness washed us like a wave that could be felt inside and outside Ibagari, filling every corner of both Roatan and Honduras with overwhelming joy. For decades, our island has been a hidden gem of the Caribbean, loved for its turquoise waters and the warmth of its people. With this Michelin Key we have, at long last, placed Honduras and our beloved Roatán firmly on the global map of high-end hospitality. This recognition proves that world-class experiences do not require gold-plated faucets or rigid formalities. Instead, they require heart. The Michelin Guide inspectors, who visited us anonymously, arrived, observed and, most importantly, felt our hospitality. They recognized that true luxury here is defined by our balance within nature,

You know that distinct feeling of arriving in paradise, when the walls seem to vanish and the jungle breathes right alongside you. Let’s step back into the story behind our open spaces and local soul, exploring how art and nature come together to create the place we call home. Why you should spend your holidays in Roatan

A festive atmosphere by the ocean The holidays feel different when you spend them by the sea. There is a certain kind of calm that only the ocean can bring. The air feels lighter, the days stretch longer, and even time seems to slow down. While the rest of the world is wrapped in snow and schedules, here, the sun takes the lead and life moves at a softer pace. Spending the holidays by the beach means trading noise for rhythm, rush for reflection. It is the chance to start the new year already relaxed. You wake up to the sound of the waves instead of alarms, and your biggest plan is choosing between a swim, a nap or a cocktail at sunset. Why Roatan is the perfect destination   Among all the Caribbean islands, Roatan holds a special kind of magic. Its calm turquoise waters and golden sunsets create the perfect setting to reconnect with what matters. The temperature stays warm year-round, hovering around 82°F, which means December feels like summer with a softer breeze. Reaching the island is easier than most imagine. There are direct flights from major U.S. cities like Miami, Dallas, Houston and Atlanta, as well as

Our first Michelin Key: a historic milestone for Ibagari and for Honduras

Some moments encapsulate more than a location; they signal the beginning of a new chapter in our story. This October, Ibagari Boutique Hotel received a Michelin key, the first ever issued in Honduras and of course in Roatán as well. While this recognition is an honor, it also exemplifies years of commitment, heartfelt hospitality, and ongoing pursuit of excellence that has always guided Ibagari from the start. More importantly, it is a symbol of how far we have come as a Honduran hospitality community and how much beauty and care we can cultivate from this island we call home. A recognition that rewards Honduran hospitality  We are honored to be sharing a moment we know will become part of our story. Ibagari Boutique Hotel has been awarded a Michelin Key. It can now claim that it is the first-and-only-of its kind, in honor of all of Honduras, but specifically the first-ever awarded in Roatán. We did not set out on this journey to be awarded. We were simply doing what we love to do and have worked tirelessly for: purposely creating tailored spaces where art, nature and genuine services collide. The Michelin Key quietly appeared, merely as an extension of
